The activities and offers highlighting the main forms of music between the Säntis and the Churfirsten in the East are put together under the name "KlangWelt Toggenburg"; it is about the natural jodel, the blessing of the alp, the bells as elements of the alpine culture and the hackbrett as a natural range string instrument in the dance music.

The Cécilian reform, which reintroduced choral music at the expense of instrumental music, deprived many "Streichmusik" traditional groups of their liturgical functions.

Thus, one meets here and there gospel choirs and other styles throughout the canton.
