"Sion: The City of Culture"

Sion is a town and commune in Switzerland, capital and the most populated city of the canton of Wallis and the district of Sion. Sion is considered the sunniest city in Switzerland. Thanks to its central location, this small cultural town is also an excellent starting point to discover the diversity of musical styles and contemporary dances in the valleys of Wallis.

Located at the crossroads of holiday resorts, Sion is the epitome of manners in Wallis. Under the protective gaze of its two emblematic fortresses, the capital of Wallis is not lacking in assets: an irresistibly charming old town in which a rich cultural life takes shape around dance and music festivals.

Some top events in Sion:

• Tibor Varga Academy of Music - concerts of classical music, given in different locations in Wallis (July / August);
• International Festival of the Ancient Organ - prestigious concerts of the fortified church of Valère (July / August);
• Carnival of Sion - the biggest carnival in the center of wallis, attracting nearly 60,000 people every year.

Equipped with several entertainment groups, cinemas, theaters and cantonal museums, the cultural life of Sion is well animated. In addition, various music festivals are held there. The gospel choir Edem Gospel Voices has made a name for itself in Sion and the canton of wallis, interpreting the great gospel songs and animating wedding ceremonies, birthday festivities, baptisms, evenings with friends ...
