Located in the north of the French Alps, Annecy is the capital and prefecture of the Haute-Savoie department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It covers an area of approximately 66,94 km² for a population of approximately 131,715 inhabitants estimated in 2021. Annecy is located in the Alpine furrow near Geneva and Chambéry.

Throughout the old town, there are many canals, hence the nickname "Venice of the Alps".

Annecy is internationally recognized for its places of interest, quality of life and events like the International Animated Film Festival and the Lake Festival, attracting thousands of visitors each year.

Every year, musicians, amateurs and professionals, play musical instruments in the street during the Fête de la Musique. Throughout the year, many events are held with various musical styles such as jazz, rock, pop, funk, gospel.
